There was at least 14" of ice underfoot to keep us high and dry and acres of soft snow to cushion the frequent spin-outs.
After a morning of slalom and skidpad exercises, there was a challenging afternoon session running "fast" laps on a very slick
1.5 mile-long track that had been plowed clear of the soft snow.
