Our second full day in China brought us to the Forbidden City,
a walled compound that was (for 6 centuries) the residence of
Ming and Qing dynasty emperors. It is truly the signature feature of Beijing.
The compound contains nearly 1000 buildings and occupies an area of 178 acres.
We experienced another day of fine weather with a brilliant, clear blue sky!
No sign of Beijing's notorious pollution, and any photographic problems
can't be blamed on the weather.
